Chloe & Josh’s Styled Wedding

Chloe & Josh together make a couple you don’t find often these days.  Raised and living in country Queensland they have big hearts, work awfully hard and love a good laugh.  It was important to Chloe & Josh that their wedding be a unique reflection of who they are and that it embrace and enfold their families in a joyous yet relaxed moment that they would remember.  It was important to both of them that their families feel engaged in the entire day.  Chloe knew she wanted a picnic wedding and whilst some family members were a little concerned with this break in tradition I think it’s pretty clear from these incredible images by Luke Going Photography, that they had an amazing time! Metres and metres of floral bunting from Fancy Tea really set the scene for this country picnic! Luke Going Photography Luke Going Photography

There are people you meet who inspire  you to go beyond your natural boundaries and to create things you weren’t sure you were capable of.  For me Chloe was that person.  She challenged me to create some very special elements for her wedding to Josh such as a freestanding doorway, so that even though the reception was outdoors  they could still have a grand entrance as Mr & Mrs! Now those of you who know me will understand that I love a challenge, but building stuff from timber was completely and utterly new to me!  We were very careful to ensure that whatever we built be strong and safe.  Nobody wants any nasty accidents!  Working with a licenced carpenter to create our design, we sourced genuine vintage doors and timber from awesome local recycling businesses.  Now to be honest my input on this one was mostly design, so all credit goes to my hubby Todd and our carpenter extraordinaire Justin.  Didn’t they do a great job?

This one however is pretty much all my work, both built and designed from scratch by me!  I adore our Giant Connect 4, not only because it’s an awesome game to play but it’s the perfect size to play when you’re all dressed up for a wedding.  The fact that you can set it up in the shape of a heart was an lovely and unexpected bonus.  We also decided to build our own Giant Jenga which you can see below. The guests loved playing these outdoor games and we loved hearing their laughter!  Our collection of outdoor games now includes Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, 6 player Croquet. Quoits and Bocce.  The beauty of an early ceremony is having time to play the games all afternoon to your hearts content!Luke Going Photography Luke Going Photography Luke Going Photography

As a special nod to the groom we created an outdoor cigar bar using our Vintage Rum Barrels and Chester Sofa as focal points.  Seems the guys enjoyed it! Luke Going Photography

For the ladies we put together a powder room stocked with everything a girl might need from bandaids to breath mints and bobby pins to brushes.  This was so incredibly popular at Chloe & Josh’s styled wedding that we now supply similar powder room packs at every wedding we style.
